April Love - Day 2

Today's photo prompt is "favourite flowers". In the beginning I was stumped. I mean, I honestly have next to no knowledge of flora. I  walked around my garden looking for flowers. I must have been quite a sight with my spectacular bed hair, skimpy jammies, barefoot muttering to myself about the lack of decent flowers at this time of the year.

And then I came across this:

To my utter pleasure, I even knew the name! Bougainvillea. (Found the correct spelling after a couple of google searches -blush-). We have a rather large bush of Bougainvillea, and I must say, it gives me pleasure watching the different colours bloom throughout spring, summer and now late summer/early autumn. 

I decided to add a second photo for today's prompt as these flowers are one of my favourite. During a road trip to Jo'burg this past weekend my friend and I begged my boyfriend, Calvin, to stop on the side of the road to get a picture in front of one of the many fields of wildflowers. After googling and confirming with my mom (who conveniently seems to have more knowledge about flora than I do- not that it takes a lot to have more knowledge than me in this aspect!!), these wildflowers are called Cosmos!
